Portuguese Macau 50 Patacas 1992

     Here is a Portuguese currency that was issued in Macau as a special territory of Portugal on the 13th of July 1992. Lion dance are almost synonymous with Chinese New Year. Banco Nacional Ultramarino was one of the few early note-issuing banks to issue banknotes showcasing the Chinese New Year. It bears the signature of João António Morais da Costa Pinto (Governor) and Abílio do Nascimento Martins Dengucho (Director-General of the Macau Branch). Printed by Imprensa Nacional-Casa da Moeda and authorised by Decree-Law No. 36/92/M, July 13th.
