REV: Portuguese Macau 50 Patacas 1981

Praia Grande was once a bay located at the southern end of the Macau Peninsula. It has long been a favourite subject for paintings. This popular scenery has been depicted on the banknotes of Macau. Studded with picturesque old buildings, it illustrates the details of the bay during the 19th century. The bay has been transformed into a man-made lake (Lago Nam Van) with much land southwest of the bay was created from landfill.
